42 exhibitions in 8 countries mark 50 years since Picasso’s death.
Romania is one of the 8 countries.

The Picasso Effect opened on 27 September 2023 at the Museum of Recent Art in Bucharest and closed on 8 January 2024. It included 46 works by the Spanish artist and 50 works by Romanian artists who were inspired by him.
The event was organized in partnership with the Musée National Picasso–Paris and celebrated 50 years since the passing of Pablo Picasso, as part of a project involving 42 museums worldwide, all of which opened exhibitions dedicated to the artist. Romania is the only country in Central and Eastern Europe that took part in the large-scale initiative launched by Spain and France through a governmental partnership.
Autumn 2023 also marked 5 years since the opening of MARe.
